Within this role you are responsible for carrying out assignments related to the manufacturing or modification of products.
The following activities may occur during the execution of the assignments:
- Manufacturing products at our own discretion based on drawings or sketches and instructions, in such a way that they meet the qualitative and constructive requirements;
- Determining and organizing the material, choosing the processing sequence and creating auxiliary tools necessary to optimally carry out the assignments;
- Identifying manufacturability problems or material deviations, determining the causes and proposing solutions in consultation with the client;
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on the machines, (measuring) tools, aids and installations present within the work area.
You work closely with colleagues from the other departments within the Research Center and with the Testing Technicians and Construction groups within Product Development. On occasion you may be asked to provide support to the other workshops within the Research Center.
You also contribute to the daily assignments of 3D-printed plastic components for the proto area for which we supply. You work with a CAD/CAM system. You are assessing the 3D models supplied by the customer for suitability for 3D printing and, where necessary, advising and fine-tuning the desired properties of the end product.
