As an Electrical Engineer – Energy Solutions, you will translate customer requirements into smart, sustainable technical solutions. You will design electrical systems for a variety of applications, including distribution centers with limited grid capacity, energy-efficient commercial buildings, and battery energy storage systems.

You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from technical preparation and engineering to quality assurance and final commissioning. Working closely with project management and commissioning teams, you will ensure that every system is designed, tested, and delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and energy solutions.
  • Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Translate customer requirements into practical, future-proof engineering solutions.
  • Prepare functional descriptions, operation manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support to project management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and configure PLC software, including programming controllers and integrating communication protocols such as Modbus TCP within Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Prepare test procedures and documentation, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable regulations and industry standards, including NEN 3140 and IEC 62040.

About You

You are an analytical and solution-oriented Electrical Engineer who enjoys developing innovative energy solutions. You have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and thrive in multidisciplinary project environments.

You also bring:

  • An MBO or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent working and thinking level) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience creating electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience with energy storage systems, renewable energy solutions, or similar applications is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus TCP and experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and/or SCADA systems.
  • Experience with engineering software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, or SEE Electrical.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is considered an advantage.
  • A permanent position with a minimum of 32 hours per week.
  • A competitive gross monthly salary ranging from €3,800 to €5,900, depending on your experience and qualifications.
  • A company laptop, mobile phone, and company car (depending on the role and experience level).
  • An annual performance or year-end bonus.
  • 8% holiday allowance.
  • 30 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment), with the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Employment conditions in line with the Dutch Metal & Engineering collective labour agreement (CAO Metaal & Techniek).
