Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical background and a passion for solving complex technical problems?

For an international manufacturer of advanced packaging machinery, Xelvin is looking for a Field Service Engineer who will support customers within the food and beverage industry. You will install, maintain and improve high-quality packaging machines at customer locations across Europe.

This position offers a high level of independence, international travel and the opportunity to develop into a technical specialist within a global organisation.

The preferred location for this position is the south of the Netherlands, such as North Brabant or Limburg, or the north of Belgium, including East Flanders, Antwerp or Limburg.

What will you be doing?

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the technical point of contact for customers. You will ensure that their packaging machines operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing professional service, maintenance and repairs on existing packaging machines.
  • Installing, assembling and commissioning new machines at customer locations.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and automation-related malfunctions.
  • Carrying out machine modifications, upgrades and conversions.
  • Providing both on-site and remote technical support.
  • Performing preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve machine availability.
  • Monitoring machine performance and identifying potential technical issues at an early stage.
  • Advising customers and sharing technical expertise to solve operational problems.
  • Training customer employees in the correct operation and maintenance of the machinery.
  • Preparing accurate service, quality and installation reports.
  • Maintaining clear communication with customers and the Field Service Manager.
  • Identifying possible commercial opportunities or risks during customer visits.
  • Working closely with an experienced and internationally oriented Field Service team.

Most assignments will take place in the Benelux and Scandinavia. Depending on customer demand, you may also support customers in other parts of Europe.

What do we expect from you?

You are a practical and customer-focused engineer who enjoys working independently in an international service environment.

You bring:

  • At least five years of relevant experience as a Field Service Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer or Service Technician.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, as approximately 60% of the position is mechanically focused.
  • Good electrical and automation knowledge, representing approximately 40% of the role.
  • Experience with industrial machinery, production equipment or packaging machines.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, commissioning and preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Siemens S7 and TIA Portal is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Bosch Rexroth servo systems is an advantage.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • The willingness to travel regularly throughout the Benelux, Scandinavia and other parts of Europe.
  • Availability to travel up to approximately 75% of your working time by car or aeroplane.

What can you expect from Xelvin?

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,200 and €5,200, depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • A company car, including private use.
  • Paid overtime and 25 annual leave days.
  • Training and career development opportunities.
  • A complete relocation package when required, including a relocation budget, housing support, assistance with the 30% ruling, and support with arranging your BSN, bank account and health insurance.

Our client is an internationally operating manufacturer of advanced packaging machinery and solutions. Its machines are used by leading companies within the food and beverage industry.

The organisation focuses on innovation, reliability and long-term customer relationships. Employees work in an international environment where integrity, responsibility, respect and technical excellence are important values.
