Take ownership of high-tech products throughout their full lifecycle

Are you an experienced Technical Project Manager based in Portugal and ready to take the next step in your international career? For a leading high-tech engineering and manufacturing company in the Eindhoven region, Xelvin is looking for a Technical Project Manager Lifecycle Management who wants to relocate to the Netherlands.

In this role, you are not only managing timelines, resources and deliverables. You take long-term ownership of complex technical products and guide them through their complete lifecycle: from new product introduction and ramp-up to maturity, continuous improvement and end-of-life.

You will work in a high-tech environment where hardware, software, engineering and manufacturing come together. Your decisions directly impact product performance, cost, quality, manufacturability, supply robustness and long-term customer success.

What you will do

As Technical Project Manager Lifecycle Management, you will guide products from introduction to maturity and eventually phase-out. You will make sure lifecycle phases are managed in a structured, predictable and data-driven way.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of a product or product group across its full lifecycle: NPI, ramp-up, sustain and end-of-life.
  • Leading a dedicated product team and coordinating activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Driving improvements in quality, manufacturability, cost performance and supply robustness.
  • Managing timelines, resources, risks and budgets to ensure stable and predictable product performance.
  • Leading cross-functional collaboration between R&D, operations, supply chain, industrialization, quality, hardware and software teams.
  • Coordinating engineering changes, redesigns and lifecycle optimizations.
  • Managing lifecycle planning, roadmaps, stage-gate processes and gate reviews.
  • Balancing trade-offs between performance, cost, lead time, availability and long-term reliability.
  • Identifying technical, supply chain and cost-related risks and proactively mitigating them.
  • Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders on long-term product strategy.
  • Creating structure, ownership and accountability within multidisciplinary teams.

What you bring

You are structured, proactive and technically strong. You understand that lifecycle management is about more than planning. It is about making the right decisions at the right moment, based on technical insight, business impact and long-term product performance.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical project management, product lifecycle management, lifecycle management or a comparable technical leadership role.
  • Experience in embedded systems, electronics, mechatronics or complex hardware/software environments.
  • Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle: NPI, ramp-up, sustain and end-of-life.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, industrialization and quality.
  • Familiarity with stage-gate processes, lifecycle governance and gate reviews.
  • Experience with engineering change management, such as ECR and ECO processes.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, preferably with knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage trade-offs.
  • A hands-on and proactive mindset: you drive progress and do not wait for direction.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English. Dutch is a plus, but not required.
  • EU work authorization or willingness to relocate to the Netherlands. Visa support may be possible for non-EU candidates.

What Xelvin offers you

Relocating to another country is a big step. Xelvin supports you throughout the process, both professionally and personally.

We offer:

  • A long-term contract for 38 hours per week, with the possibility of permanent employment.
  • A gross monthly salary between €5,500 and €7,000, depending on experience and education.
  • 30 paid vacation days, in addition to paid public holidays.
  • 8.33% holiday allowance, paid annually.
  • Travel reimbursement.
  • Relocation support from Portugal to the Netherlands.
  • Assistance with finding your first housing.
  • Relocation bonus.
  • Support with BSN, banking, insurance and onboarding.
  • Work permit and visa assistance, if applicable.
  • Personal guidance from Xelvin during the full relocation process.
  • Access to a strong technical network in the Netherlands.
  • A long-term career opportunity in one of Europe’s leading high-tech regions.

Why this role stands out

This is a role for someone who wants real ownership. You will not simply deliver one project and move on. You will be responsible for the long-term success of a product or product group.

You will operate at the intersection of engineering, operations, supply chain, quality and strategy. That means you need to understand technical complexity, but also be able to make clear decisions, align stakeholders and manage trade-offs.

In this role, you will:

  • Own a product or product group across the full lifecycle.
  • Work on complex high-tech systems where hardware and software are strongly connected.
  • Influence decisions that impact quality, lead time, cost, supply robustness and scalability.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in a fast-moving engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Contribute to long-term product strategy together with internal stakeholders and customers.
