As a Commissioning Engineer, you ensure that complete emergency power systems are tested, commissioned and delivered safely and reliably. You verify that every part of the installation functions according to the applicable safety standards, technical specifications and project requirements.

Your responsibilities include:
– Commissioning and testing complete emergency power installations
– Performing structured tests on generators and related systems
– Testing engines, generators, switchgear, fuel systems and urea systems
– Preparing, carrying out and reporting on FAT and SAT procedures
– Analysing technical issues during testing and providing targeted solutions
– Verifying systems for safety, accuracy and performance
– Working with generator control systems for automatic transfer between mains power and emergency power
– Supporting the synchronisation of multiple generators
– Diagnosing faults using detailed data logging
– Ensuring installations meet the required standards and project specifications
– Acting as a technical point of contact for customers
– Recording test results and processes in clear reports

For this role, we are looking for a technically strong and structured professional with a solid electrical background. You are confident in reading electrical diagrams, troubleshooting faults and working with technical components. You bring: – MBO-4 working and thinking level – A strong electrical background – Experience with reading electrical schematics and making electrical connections – Strong troubleshooting skills and component knowledge – At least 3 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer or Troubleshooting Technician – Knowledge of generator control systems such as DEIF, ComAp or Deep Sea – Experience with at least one generator control system – Flexibility to work abroad for approximately 70% of your time – A maximum travel distance of 1.5 hours from IJmuiden – Good English communication skills, both spoken and written – Knowledge of diesel technology is a plus

You will work on high-quality technical projects involving engines, generators, switchgear, fuel systems and control systems. Around 70% of your work will take place internationally, so flexibility and the ability to adapt to different environments are essential.
