As a Field Service Panel Builder Technician, you will work on a variety of electrical installations at customer sites throughout the Netherlands. Your responsibilities include assembling, installing, connecting, commissioning and maintaining electrical distribution systems and control panels.

You will work both on-site with customers and in the workshop. At customer locations, you ensure that electrical installations are installed safely, correctly and according to specifications. You will also troubleshoot electrical faults, identify the root cause of problems and provide effective solutions to get the customer’s installation back up and running as quickly as possible.

Your work is both electrical and mechanical, making this a varied and hands-on position. You will build cabinets based on electrical schematics, connect electrical installations and, when required, interconnect panels on-site when they cannot be transported as a single unit.

You will also have direct contact with customers and coordinate your activities with them to ensure that installation and service work causes as little disruption to their operations as possible.

During periods with less field service work, you will support the workshop team by building electrical panels based on technical drawings and schematics.

  • MBO level 3 working and thinking level, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or demonstrable relevant work experience.
  • A solid background in electrical engineering and electrical installations.
  • Experience in panel building is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience with electrical distribution systems and/or control panels is an advantage.
  • Strong practical and technical skills.
  • Able to analyse technical problems and troubleshoot faults independently.
  • Accurate, safety-conscious and responsible in your work.
  • Willingness to follow relevant technical training and education.
  • Familiarity with NEN 3140 procedures or willingness to obtain the relevant training.
  • VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid driving licence (Category B).
  • Flexible regarding working hours and willing to participate in on-call/breakdown services.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Netherlands and occasionally work away from home during the day.
  • Good command of English. Dutch is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • A varied technical position combining field service, panel building and electrical installation.
  • Work at different customer locations throughout the Netherlands.
  • A high level of independence and responsibility in your daily work.
  • Opportunities to develop your technical skills through relevant training and education.
  • The opportunity to obtain additional certifications such as VCA and NEN 3140.
  • A combination of workshop-based and customer-facing work.
  • Participation in on-call and breakdown services.
  • 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days
  • A lot of variety. You will not be doing the same thing every day. You will work at different customer locations and deal with different electrical installations and technical challenges.
  • Hands-on technical work. You will work directly with electrical distribution systems, control panels and electrical installations, allowing you to put your practical skills to use every day.
  • Independence and responsibility. You will have the freedom to investigate technical problems, determine the best solution and carry out your work independently.
  • Technical challenge. The combination of electrical and mechanical work makes this a broad and challenging position where you will continuously encounter different technical situations.
  • Room to develop. You will have the opportunity to follow relevant courses and training and further develop your career within electrical engineering, panel building and service.

You will join a growing Dutch technical organisation specialising in electrical distribution systems, control panels and industrial electrical engineering. The company works for a wide range of industrial and technical customers and combines engineering, production, installation and service. Both standard and customised electrical solutions are designed and built in-house. This means you will be involved with a variety of technical installations and projects throughout your work. The organisation has a strong practical and hands-on approach: electrical systems need to be correctly designed, but just as importantly, they need to be properly built, installed, commissioned and maintained. You will work closely with colleagues in the workshop, engineering and work preparation, while also operating independently at customer sites.
